RDD Minister says issue will be resolved in 10 to 15 days

Srinagar, Jan 27 (KNO): As many as 62 key posts of Block Development Officers (BDOs) are lying vacant in the Rural Development Department (RDD) in Kashmir. As per the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the highest number of BDO posts i.e. 17 are lying vacant in Kupwara district, only eight have been appointed against the total of 25 key positions. Srinagar is the only place where no posts are lying vacant, reveals a document available with KNO. In Anantnag and Bandipora, seven BDO positions are lying vacant respectively, it reads. A total of 11 administrative positions are lying vacant in Baramulla while 6 are unfilled in Budgam district. According to the document, four key positions each are lying vacant in Pulwama and Kulgam districts while five are vacant in Shopian. In Ganderbal, one key post of BDO is also lying vacant. Meanwhile, Minister for Agriculture Production and Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Departments, Javed Ahmad Dar while speaking to KNO, said that the vacant posts will be filled soon. “In the next 10-15 days, the issue related to the vacant posts of BDOs will be resolved,” he said—(KNO)
